We weren’t at the Fort very long before we’re back on the road heading towards Oak Harbor. We make it there Ronnie pulls out his cell phone and give an old service buddy a call. Ronnie became famous for knowing someone in just about every town we stop in. Anyway, before ya know it we are having dinner at this nice Mexican Restaurant and his friend pays the bill! Yahoo, free dinner! I can’t remember his name now but his him and his wife were the perfect hosts that night. I thank them both!

After dinner we head North, cross over the bridges and arrived in Mt. Vernon where we get a room for the night. One room, 2 queen size beds, 3 tired riders. Not a good thing. Ronnie got the solo bed and Jim and I decided to share one (his mistake.) Sometime during the night I received a visit from the snoring God. He enchanted me with special snoring powers. Enough power to blast Jim right off the bed. I woke up the next morning and there he was all cured up on the floor. Poor Jim, sorry about that!

We pack up the next morning and head down to visit Camano peninsula. I also needed to fix my cigarette lighter and need to stop at a hardware store. We find this great little place about half way down. Now I’m all for Home Depot, but nothing beats a good mom and pop hardware shop. They had everything I needed and even came out and looked at the bikes. They don’t do that at Home Depot.
